LAW100 Recces

Recce and training days to help you prepare

LAW100 Recces

One of the reasons we chose to stage LAW100 is it’s good links to public transport.

The ‘Settle to Carlisle’ railway line runs roughly parallel with the route, with Skipton being a key station and Langwathby station just five miles from Penrith.

The railway continues North to Carlisle where a change will bring you back South to Penrith. Langwathby station is just five miles East of Penrith via the A686.  It’s not a good road to run or walk along, but a taxi or irregular local community bus may be an option.

Kirkby Stephen, Appleby and Garsdale stations can be readily used to access sections on the route.  Kirkby Stephen Station is a little way out of the town but easy navigation links you to the LAW100 route.

Garsdale station serves the Moorcock Inn and the halfway point.  ‘The Little White Bus’ community bus services operates in Wensleydale connecting Garsdale station with Hawes and Askrigg.

In Wharfedale, a bus service runs from Skipton to Grassington and onto Kettlewell and Buckden.

Naturally: ‘Check Local Press for Details’  especially in these current times.

Group Recces and Training Days

Currently a little out of the question, we do intend to arrange some in due course. These will be a mix of social walk / runs and a few skills sessions, where you can seek advice on kit, shoes, food, navigation, etc.  We’ll update you with details when we can.

Our facebook page will be the best way to share info, lifts and match up with others, naturally in the appropriate way.

Keep safe, keep positive.  Remember the five ‘P’s
